Organic nutmeg

The spice with the sweet-tart taste is actually not a nut at all, but the one Seeds of a fruitwhich grows on the nutmeg tree in tropical areas.

Our highly aromatic organic nutmeg from Sri Lanka is grown and harvested there by the smallholder association SOFA (Small Organic Farmer Association).

Nutmeg is best done first be ground shortly before they are used, as their fine, sweet aroma is very fleeting.

It looks particularly good in béchamel sauce, with cauliflower or broccoli, mashed potatoes or gratins. The following applies: less is more. This is how the aroma comes into its own when it does not dominate the entire food.
